New Year is here and Bellevue area residents are committed to losing weight , slimming down and getting healthy for 2012. Losing weight can be very difficult , after all 66% of our population is overweight. The problem is multifaceted, both physical and emotional (stress/attitudes/beliefs/habits) factors are the big drivers for keeping you fat. That is why 95% of all dieters who lose the weight then gain it all back again plus a few extra pounds for good measure. I like weight loss clients, the person comes in and seriously wants to lose the weight but they do not want to let go of the real cause of their weight gain, the real cause of why they can't lose the weight and the real cause of why if they do lose the weight then they just gain it all back again.
Within the first 7 minutes with a patient I generally have it figured out and then I spend the next 30 minutes slowly shifting them into a new and improved mindset. The shift in attitude and belief involves what I call baby steps with the objective for them to do a 360 over time . I achieve my objective by what ever means necessary for that client at the moment, sometimes by being very direct and confronting and other times simply guiding them to a new idea or a better feeling thought that will serve them in their hopeful quest for a weight loss for life. Today I simply asked my new weight loss client if she could close her eyes and visualize herself 8 weeks from now 25 pounds slimmer, at her desired weight? That is an interesting question to ask as many people are not able. If you are not able to use your imagination to see the new you then we are going to have a difficult time succeeding. Just the other day I asked a lady the same question and she said, "Oh No," she described to me she could see herself slimmed down but then immediately saw in her mind a picture of herself having gained all the weight back and she felt the fear and sadness and regret of having put it all back on again. In a 5 minute application of the DEEP Release Clear Mind Process I removed the negative emotions and she could no longer imagine in her mind herself having gained all the weight back.
There are many issues at play with folks who have a difficult time with weight loss. I am not insinuating that a simple process of improved imagination is THE fix. You have to at least believe you can lose the weight and believe you can keep it off. Its all about baby stepping your way into a new and improved direction that is more useful and beneficial for you.
